PEC Round 4 – 10H of Aragon: Chaos and Comebacks

The fourth round of the PEC endurance championship brought our teams to the technical and demanding Aragon circuit for a grueling 10-hour showdown. What was expected to be a dry race turned into a dramatic and chaotic event as an unexpected downpour halfway through the race turned strategies upside down and pushed everyone to the limit.

#126 Mustang GT3 – Pro Class

Drivers: Andrew Fairley, Ruben Berings, Ryan Harper

Starting from P11 on the grid, our Mustang squad had a rough beginning, initially losing a few positions in the opening stints. The team managed to regroup and steadily climbed back up the order. However, a combination of small mistakes and the sudden arrival of heavy rain in the latter stages of the race halted the momentum. Despite the setbacks, Andrew, Ruben, and Ryan never gave up, digging deep and pushing on to bring the car home in P11 in class. Thank you to the trio for staying focused and giving it their all until the very end. It wasn’t our day, but the commitment was unquestionable.

#226 Ferrari GT3 – Am Class

Drivers: Gilles Philippaerts, Brecht Berings, Nauzet Herrera

If the Mustang had a rough day, the Ferrari had a full-blown emotional rollercoaster. Starting from P5 in class, early race troubles hit hard. Connection issues and contact with a GTP car caused damage and dropped the team as far down as P8. Morale was low until the unthinkable happened. In a stunning turnaround during the second half of the race, the #226 began clawing its way back up the field. With just an hour to go, the team found themselves in a podium position, sitting proudly in P3.

But sim racing can be as cruel as it is thrilling.

In one of the most heartbreaking moments of the season, disaster struck when both of our team cars collided with just 40 minutes to go. The Ferrari sustained damage and was forced to pit, losing valuable time and dropping to P4 by the checkered flag, just shy of the podium.

Despite the drama, both teams showed great pace, dedication and teamwork. We'll learn from this race and come back stronger for the next round.
