DDK Racing Battles Tough Conditions in 12H Bathurst iRacing Special Event

The legendary Mount Panorama Circuit played host to yet another thrilling endurance spectacle in the 12H Bathurst, and DDK Racing had high hopes as they took on the challenge in their Porsche. With Ruben Berings and Brecht Berings behind the wheel, the team was eager to make a mark in one of the toughest endurance races. Right from the start, the team showcased their pace and skill. Ruben Berings delivered an incredible qualifying performance, securing pole position and putting themselves in the best possible position for the grueling 12-hour race.

Spirits were high, and confidence was soaring as they prepared for the challenge ahead.

However, Bathurst is never an easy track, especially in changeable weather conditions. Known for its punishing walls, narrow mountain section, and technical downhill descents, the circuit is a beast even in the dry. But this event threw an even greater challenge at the drivers: rain. Wet conditions turned an already treacherous race into a battle of survival, with grip levels constantly shifting and strategy becoming even more crucial.

They fought hard, navigating the chaos of traffic and the ever-changing track conditions. The team was looking strong until disaster struck midway through the race. A crash cost them valuable time and positions, ultimately dropping them down the order. Despite their best efforts to recover, they crossed the finish line in P23, a tough result considering their stellar start. While the final placement wasn't what they had hoped for, the experience was invaluable. The team demonstrated their pace and resilience, proving they can compete at the front.

A huge thank you to Ruben and Brecht Berings for their dedication and effort in this challenging race.
